A momma turkey strutting across our farm cam with so many babies behind her.
We've watched several times and still can't count all the babies. Apparently, a turkey hen lays one clutch of eggs per year. A clutch can be four to seventeen eggs, but she only lays one egg each day. This momma must have been laying eggs for days! Even though she only lays one per day they all will hatch at the same time often within an hour of one another [synchronous hatching]. Nature is such a wonder.
